The Voidomatis River, a tributary of the Aoos River, flows through the deep Vikos Gorge. Aside from the thick vegetation along the banks and its crystalline waters, it offers unforgettable experiences to fans of aquatic sports who prefer its challenging currents. The Voidomatis River, flowing through Vikos Gorge, is popular with those who enjoy kayaking and rafting. The bridge of Kleidonia, at the end of Vikos Gorge, was built in 1853 about 2 kilometres from the like-named village. An old ballad tells the story of a confrontation that took place on the bridge over a matter of honour: “I wouldn’t change the rumbling sound / to tell another song / I lost a master and a mistress and two of my first cousins…”
