This easy 6k-route, that lasts approximately 2 hours and is accessible by car up to the point of Prionia (1100m altitude), is known for its natural beauty and religious interest. Taking the E4 hiking trail and heading towards Litochoro, you witness magnificent sights such as the grand waterfall of Enipeas. Pine, oak and walnut trees in the background surround a magnificent waterfall scenery. Following E4 and leaving behind Palaia Moni, the monastery of Agios Dionysios, we reach Holly Cave, the saint’s hermitage, visited by many pilgrims within a year. Palaia Moni, which is on the way back to Prionia, is worth a stop. It is open to the public from April up until October.
