Winter route, easy, duration approximately 3h. Located 42km from Elassona at an altitude of 1.805m, “Vrysopoules” is the area where the Education Centre of Alpine Skiing (ECAS) of the Greek Armed Forces is located. Just above the military facilities, there is the mountaineering refuge “Vrysopoules ECAS”. Taking the route that follows the pylons of the skiing center, you reach the emergency refuge (2.450m). Enjoy the alpine landscape with its bare and wild beauty that appears to be even more majestic when covered in snow. Moving on, the route takes you to the peak of “Agios Antonios” (2.817m). There, the emergency refuge accommodates a total of nine hikers. When it was first established, it served as a meteorological station for the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
