Skra

This village’s name is quite odd. It is named after the nearby mountain peak, called Skra di Legen. It is the place where the Battle of Skra-Ravine took place in 1918. The architecture of the village’s old houses is the same as of those of Goumenissa with fortress-like walls and courtyards. The villages of Archangelos and Koupes are nearby. Find the sign directing to the “Skra Falls” and there they are, just 700m walk away. Cross the wooden bridge and the stone path to finally witness the spectacular views of the falls creating a green and blue colored lake. The lake is called Emerald because of the calcified and fossilized organisms that have been found in it creating this wonderful color. The place is really beautiful and complete with wooden benches and tables for visitors to relax.
