Sagiada

Sagiada is a charming fishing village in the like-named bay, on the north side of the Kalamas Delta, forming a vital wetland stopover for migratory birds with both marshy and arable lands. The village was moved from the mountainside after it was destroyed by the Germans and their collaborators in 1943. Ruins of the mansions at the historic settlement which flourished over the previous two centuries still remain at old Sagiada.
