Souli

Souli is the geographic and residential unit in a naturally fortified site between the mountains of Paramythia and Souli, and Acheron Gorge. It is famous for the heroic resistance put up against Ali Pasha and the self-sacrifice of the Souliotes in 1803 after capitulation and the abandonment of the Souli villages.
