Kokkinopilos | Preveza

The area of Kokkinopilos Preveza, near the villages of Agios Georgios and Rizovouni, about 10 km from Filippiada, is known for its characteristic red hills. These red hills, 100-150 meters high, create a landscape reminiscent of a lunar surface, offering an impressive experience to visitors. The name ‘Kokkinopilos’ comes from the red clay that dominates the soil, creating a unique geological phenomenon. Important finds of the Palaeolithic and Bronze Age have been identified in the area at the Asprochaliko site, near Kokkinopilos.
