Kroussia is a low mountain range with the highest peak of Mavrovouni at about 1,200 meters that starts from Mount Kerkini (Belles) and separates the large plain of Serres from the plains of Kilkis. In the Balkan Botanical Garden of Kroussia one will find endemic Balkan plants that bloom all year round. From late winter, more and more plants bloom, culminating in late spring. They are discovered through different tour routes that include rock gardens, silver, medicinal and aromatic gardens, waterfalls, small lakes, streams, landscaped paths, meadows and woodlands.
