Doirani Memorial

The Doirani British Monument is dedicated to the British Commonwealth soldiers who fell on the Macedonian Front during the First World War. It is located near Lake Doirani, in the Regional Unit of Kilkis, and is one of the most important military monuments in the region. The monument was designed by the architect Sir Robert Lorimer and bears the engraved names of more than 2,000 soldiers who have no known grave. The area saw fierce fighting, particularly during the Battle of Doirani (1917-1918), where the British dynasty suffered heavy losses.
