Clock of Fortress of Trikki | Trikala

The clock on Frourio Hill is the architectural landmark of Trikala. In the middle of the 17th century the Ottomans had set up a clock with an enormous bell that could be heard at great distances. On the foundations of the old clock the present-day three-storey clock was built in 1936; it stands 33 metres high and has become the city’s symbol.
