Dragon’s Cave | Kastoria

At the 2nd km of the lakeside road, just before the Monastery of Panagia Mavriotissa, there is an impressive cave known as the Cave of the Dragon. It has underground pools and halls connected by corridors. The entire cave is richly decorated with stalactites. The temperature inside the cave is stable throughout the seasons at 16-18 degrees Celsius. Inside the cave, paleontological bones of a cave bear that lived in the area 10,000 years ago were found!
