Tzoumerka National Park

The National Park of Tzoumerka, Peristeri and Arachthos Gorge covers an area of 820 km2 in the southern section of the Pindos mountain range. Its geophysical landmarks include Mount Lakmos (Peristeri), Tzoumerka (Athamanika mountains) and the Arachthos River. They comprise a rich ecosystem where the natural environment (rugged mountains and gorges, and a variety of alpine flora and fauna) meets the human-made world (traditional settlements and cultural monuments: stone bridges, monasteries, churches and cobblestone trails).
