Cave of Cyclops | Makri

The great cave of Makri, with its three caverns, was inhabited in Neolithic times but vestiges of worship, and everyday clay objects dating to antiquity and the Byzantine era have also been discovered. As the local myth has it, Polyphemus the Cyclops lived in this very cave, which can be reached by a picturesque cobblestone path tucked away in the lush vegetation.
